In Toronto, most cosmetic facial surgery is done in the hospital because of government subsidy. Therefore, Dr. Jacobs was able to perform more rhinoplasty, eyelid, and facelift surgeries in training than most American plastic surgeons do in their first five to 10 years in practice.
