Lip Lift Seminar Draws Interest and Confirms Research

Lip Lift Seminar Draws Interest and Confirms Research

Facial cosmetic surgeon Dr. Stanley Jacobs is known for saying that facial surgery is a surgery of millimeters, a sentiment further supported by the results he discovered during a recent event at his Healdsburg office.

On Sept. 27, the San Francisco-based plastic surgery specialist held a lip lift seminar, explaining to the assembled crowd the details involved in his method for giving patients a more youthful smile. Simply put, the smaller the distance between a person’s upper lip and nose, the more youthful they appear.

Based on his studies and research, the ideal length seems to be around 15 to 17 millimeters. His early measurements of people dissatisfied with their face and wanting a more youthful look found an average of 20 millimeters.

At his lip lift seminar, Dr. Jacobs measured about 18 attendees, finding an average nose-to-upper lip distance of 19.55 millimeters, which is in line with his previous results.

Truly, just a few millimeters can make a big difference in plastic surgery.

The lip lift is a fast-healing plastic surgery procedure, typically completed in about 45 minutes. It involves small incisions, carefully hidden in the natural contours below the nose. By removing just a small amount of skin, Dr. Jacobs can lift the upper lift into a new position that reduces wrinkles, allows the upper lip to roll outward for a fuller look, gives the upper teeth a chance to show and shine with every smile, and restores the desired “cupid’s bow” look so common to radiant, youthful faces.

Dr. Jacobs plans to hold another lip lift seminar soon. Though he handles plastic surgery procedures out of his Healdsburg office and does much of his minimally invasive work in San Francisco proper, he is aiming to schedule a similar event in his San Francisco office.
